With the gradual individuation and diversification of customer demand, at a lower cost and shorter production cycle to produce the product with high customer satisfaction is an important factor in getting advantage in a competition for enterprise. In order to fast response market and meet the personalized needs of customers, machine tool manufacturing industry has transformed from the original model develop new machine tool products in accordance with the market prediction model configuration to the new one which meet customers’ personalized needs as the purpose to configure the development and take advantage of the existing models of configuration knowledge and resources for new product development.According to the characteristics of CNC machine tools to develop new aircraft manufacturing configuration, this article proposes two level matching machine tool product configuration method based on example oriented to customer requirements. Combines with shenyang machine tool group’ machine tool products, conducts the configuration modeling, configuration, development and configuration solution. It is proved the feasibility of selecting methods. The paper’s main work is:(1) For unstructured customer demand, it adopted the algorithm based on gray rough set model and implemented objectively transform fuzzy customer requirements to product configuration parameters. Demand model is established to determine the core features of indicators in machine tool product configuration to consider, namely the demand for the product to match the template.(2) Through analyzing the characteristics of the nc machine tool products, it set up the product information model based on template instance configuration process. For product configuration knowledge expression, the use of composite (frame + case reasoning) and integration based on neural network. Using the Access builds a machine tool products and the module configuration database instance, which laid a foundation for the later case retrieval and matching.(3) The article built the nc machine tool product configuration model based on examples anddeveloped the numerical control machine tool configuration process, meanwhile the machine tool product configuration is divided into two levels:the product level and module level matching. For products and match, firstly, cluster product instance based on the self-organizing neural network (SOM),extract the similar instance selection of hou, then conduct a similarity measure, identify the most similar products examples we desired by using case matching algorithm.(4) It extract product structure tree by retrieving the similar product instance, conduct comparative analysis to the demand products, build configuration development platform and conduct module level matching. It make the module retrieve matching by using the algorithm of fuzzy mathematics theory. the lathe bed of CNC machine tools configuration module retrieval, for example, elected the best match case with the user needs.(5) The configuration constraints and matching rules between the modules were analyzed. This article adopt the algorithm based on the instance of multidimensional association rules to solve the configuration and determine the module type to bemodified by the analysis of similar machine tools product instance and demand characteristics index difference between products.Finally, Though the modified instance based on Solidworks to select the optimal combination of the module, it output the machine tool product which meet customer requirements.
