NC machines is the basic equipment in manufacturing industry, NC technology is one key technology in modern manufacturing industry. Its design, manufacture and application level represent, to a certain degree, the country’s manufacturing level and competitive edge. As a important NC machine, high precision horizontal machining center is the key equipment urgently needed for our country’s aircraft, shipbuilding, military industry, automobile and precision mould manufacturing industries. However, at present, there is a biggish disparity in design technology, manufacturing technology and machine performance between domestic HMC and oversea HMC. The disparity becomes more apparent in basic theory and key technology research and study.Supported by the National Key & New Product Developing Program and with reference to company’s own Precision Horizontal Machining Center series developing strategy and marketing experience, The article gives a detailed theoretic analysis and application research for some company’s independently developed Some Type High Precision Horizontal Machining Center and bring forward the general proposal, structure design, performance analysis, manufacturing process and accuracy checking methods, machine and functional components of the dynamic characteristics testing.The developing pattern, concerned theory and some key technology for NC High Precision Horizontal Machining Center is discussed in the article as well. The main achievements of this paper are as follows:(1) Through comparison the technical characteristics, present status and development trend of the high performance machining center, this paper expounds the importance and significance of the research on the High Precision Horizontal Machining Center product and the key technology. Putting forward the design technique specifications of High Precision Horizontal Machining Center, and lay out a plan to development plan high precision and high reliability machining center with company characteristics brand.(2) Analyzing process requirement of the High Precision Horizontal Machining Center, formulating technical specifications, and put forward overall layout design; based on large and complete machine as the object, using three-dimensional design and analysis to separately modeling, finite element analysis and optimization design of matching, and put forward the design scheme of the whole system.(3) In the light of design structure of High Precision Horizontal Machining Center, the article analyzed the key parts of the processing and key parts assembly manufacturing technology, and put forward to adapt actual needs of enterprises manufacturing process method and process.(4) Base on the assembly accuracy and measuring technology, research on the accuracy of the components and the whole machine, and the static stiffness performance testing, vibration and error of the experimental study, through the data analysis, providing theoretical basis for the structural design and the improvement of the assembly manufacturing.(5) Base on above achievements, an integration technology for h high precision horizontal machining center developing was formed. We successfully developed Some Type High Precision Horizontal Machining Center, and to expand on precision horizontal machining center series products. The products services to the national aerospace, military industry and other industries. Our research on High Precision Horizontal Machining Center bring us favorable social and economic benefits.
