Cold roll forming technology is a kind of economic, Energy-saving, environmental protection sheet forming process. By rolling multiple times in specific assemble sequence, different cold roll-forming steel section due to transverse bending of the metal plate. With the rapid development of cold roll forming technology, the cold roll forming steel are widely used in construction, automotive, aerospace and other fields. For the past few years, computer technology and the numerical simulation technology have developed rapidly. The combination of the numerical simulation and engineering practice has greatly saved the cost of production and shortened product design cycle, which has brought a new revolution in the engineering. Therefore, combination of cold roll forming technology and numerical simulation can effectively estimate the feasibility of sheet forming and also optimize the pass design and molding.In this paper, the development of cold roll forming technology at home and abroad is introduced firstly. Then, the important factors in the forming process are analyzed, including the minimum bending radius of cold bending forming, middle height, and bending parts of the stress and strain. Based on the Finite Element Analysis(FEA) theory, the forming process simulation of structural steel B is carried out in consideration of the nonlinear problem in the forming by using finite element software ANSYS Workbench. Before the FEA simulation, the forming of structural steel B should be designed to determine the number of the forming way,the forming angle, and the roller cost figure. At last, the simulation results are analyzed. To verify the accuracy of the mode, the stress and strain of the structural steel B in the process of forming is analyzed, especially of its forming shape deformation. In addition, the problems in the molding as well as the problems of easy occurrence are also discussed. The analysis and numerical simulation in this paper can provide certain theoretical basis for the actual production.
