Polyethylene(PE) resin is a kind of thermoplastic composed of vinyl monomer polymerization, one of the largest general plastic products and consumption in the world today. Ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), is a type of polyethylene resin with special performance. Polypropylene(PP) is one of the five most common used thermoplastic resin, one of the most common used plastic. China is a country contains much more coal resource than oil. The coal chemical industry development benefits the structural readjustment of our energy resources, strengthen our energy safety. Coal to methanol, then to olefin (MTO) process is more economic competitive than tradition processes.This artical bases on the automatic control system designed for a light olefin recovery unit, introduces the unit process and control programs rely to PKS control system platform of HONEYWELL, including the design and implementation of the control system, researches the overall control system design, system hardware design, software design, system engineering realization. An independent SIS(safety instrument system) ensures the safety interlock and the emergency shutdown functions, achieves the olefin recovery unit operation, process control, indication, records, online calculation, alarm and process interlock functions.The system has been online, and achieved well operating results, met the design requirements.
