With the continuous development and perfection of multi-axis NC machine tools, the four-axis and five-axis machining center are becoming more and more widely used in the production process of the modern manufacturing industry.In particular,multi-axis machining centers have great advantages in processing mechanical products which have high accuracy of space positions or complicated surfaces because they are more effective and the end products are more superior in quality. However, whether this kind of advanced manufacturing technology of multi-axis machining can bring more economic benefits for the enterprise’s product development and manufacturing or not is directly determined by the reasonable process planning and optimization.In view of the CAD/CAM/CAE integration system of UG NX is relatively more mature comparing with others in the world and it can provide seamless connection of data from designing to processing of products.So from the perspective of optimizing the existing process and using the multi-axis machining center efficiently,UG NX has been taken as a tool in this paper to design two kinds of process optimization and integration system for complicated parts respectively. The exhaust seat box of screw pump is one kind of the polyhedron hole system parts with complex shape and many kinds of spatial structure;The integral impeller part composed of complex space curved surface,which require high manufacturing precision and have difficulties in processing, is one kind of machining parts classified the complex curved surface.The main research content of this paper is as follows.1. The basic functions and technical requirements of the two typical complex parts have been analyzed separately; The processing difficulties were analyzed as well, and the corresponding process planning has been put forward.2. UG/CAD modules have been used to complete the 3D solid models of the blanks,fixtures and processing equipment both of the two parts;3. UG/CAM modules have been used for numerical control programming, and the 2D machining simulation have been carried out on the generated tool paths.4. The machine tool simulation function of UG has been used for further verification about the interference and overlap in spatial position between the cutting tools,workpieces and fixtures; Finally, the NC programs identificated by machine tools have been generatedthrough the post processing.Two complete sets of non-paper processing plans which included modeling, automatic programming, geometric simulation and post processing of the two complicated parts have been accomplished. In the end, the researches in the dissertation have been summarized and some future research directions based on the content of this paper was not in have been presented.
