Sinter is one of the important raw materials in blast furnace smelting, even the main raw materials in many areas. As the quality index which is the most difficult to control, the basicity of sinter plays an important role in the production of blast furnace,and means a lot to blast furnace smelting strengthening, productivity increasing and coke saving.In this paper, the sinter and its quality evaluation be described firstly. A brief analysis on the difficulties of the stability of sinter composition. The factors that affect the basicity of sinter are described. The emphasis is on the analysis and evaluation of the various forecasting techniques used to stabilize sinter composition, including grey system model and BP neural network, grey neural network prediction technology.The core content of this paper is to propose two methods for stabilizing the sinter basicity. One is to characterize the sinter basicity by means of the sinter mixture basicity. By comparing the experimental results, when use the XRF spectrum analyzer to detect, the basicity of sinter mixture can be in agreement with the basicity after sintering. The experimental results show that the maximum deviation was 0.06, the minimum deviation was 0.01, the average deviation was 0.036. The other way is to stabilize the sinter composition by mixing the sinter mixture or sinter itself. From the theoretical analysis, The method not only can stablizing the continuous basicity fluctuations that be detected, but also can stablizing a variety of non detection of short time of the basicity fluctuations by a large probability through some parameter settings and operations, with the first method proposed in this paper.
