A triazene compound refers to a class of compound containing-N=N-NH- conjugated functional groups, also known as the diazoamino compounds. Since found by Fischer in 1884, it have been widely used in coordination chemistry, heterocyclic compounds synthesis, organic compounds synthesis intermediates, pharmaceutical chemistry, organic dyes and other fields. As research continues, the application of triazene compounds in organic synthesis diversity has great development, making study on the synthesis of triazene become very active. There have been a lot of literature reported on the synthesis of triazene, while most of these methods are used for the symmetrical structure. It is very necessary to develop a convenient and efficient method for the synthesis of triazene.A facile and expedient synthesis of asymmetric 1,3-diaryaltriazene, which serves as an electronic material and a potential leading compound in searching for new herbicides, has been developed. The “green’’ synthesis procedure of 1,3-diaryaltriazene is quite simple, using copper sulfate as catalyst and ethanol and water as solvents. Moreover, asymmetric 1,3-diaryaltriazene can be provided by our method in good overall yield. In order to investigate the spectrometric property of this kind of compound, IR and UV-Vis spectra have been detected. In order to understand the colours of these triazenes in depth, the energy level of the product of our model reaction has been calculated on the basis set of B3LYP/6-31+G(d).
