Juque ink stone is a rare non-renewable mineral resource mainly found in Panxi Valley. As its unique natural eye and highly ornamental pattern, the stone has become the business card of the city’s cultural industry. Currently, the Juque stone related industrial constitute by ink stone and less-ink stone products. The ink product draws more attention, while the less-ink stone ignored. Although the less-ink stone can be used in art design, its importance and potential value still needs fully development.The author thought that the innovation in the less-ink stone product is necessary. The stone art and style should match with the cultural mineral resources.This article discussed the combination of stone art product and LiPu Yi people’s special cultural in building, clothing, pictograph, musical instrument and religion. The author suggests a new approach of less-ink stone art design by melding Juque stone culture and Yi people’s culture. The style, picture, color and material are selected carefully by analyzing the potential customers. The innovated design will pioneer a new way for the stone art product. It benefit for the economy and tourism of Panzhihua city.
