Ecological Safety Evaluation Of Ecological Red Lines Area Of Jiangsu Province

The ecological red line refers to the most critical boundary of ecological protection area, it is the base line of ecological protection. The area of ecological red line must be strictly protected. Based on the natural geographical features and ecological protection requirements, Jiangsu province delimited 15 categories of ecological red lines in 2013, at the core of the integrity of natural ecological system, the consistency of ecosystem service function as well as the continuity of the ecological space. The area of the ecological red lines are 2410.3 thousand hectares in total, among which ecological red lines of land area are 2283.9 thousand hectares and accounted for 22.23% of the province. Regional ecological security assessment can provide evidence to management and decision, it is also helpful to make of regional environment.In the article, we take the ecological red lines of land area in Jiangsu province as our studying area, and managed to select 18 indexes to build the indicator system based on the PSR model. Weights of the indexes are achieved by the combination weighting method, then we spatialized the 18 indexes and get them weighted stacked using the spatial analyzing method of GIS and RS, and we take 30x30m grid cell as an evaluation unit. At last we calculate the comprehensive index values of ecological security in the area of redline, and offer some proper advices. The main conclusions of the article are as follows:(1) Cities of Jiangsu province are descending sorted according to their ecological safety levels as:Changzhou, Wuxi, Taizhou, Zhenjiang, Huaian, Nanjing, Suzhou, Yangzhou, Nantong, Suqian,Yancheng, Lianyungang, Xuzhou.each city has significant difference with ecological safety level, level of Lianyungang,and Xuzhou are at a relatively low level, in another word, they are at the critical state of ecological safety; Zhenjiang, Huaian, Nanjing, Suzhou, Yangzhou, Nantong, Suqian and Yancheng are at a relatively safe condition, Changzhou and Wuxi are desirable ecological safe.(2) We found that the scores of state layer of each city are evidently higher than the scores of pressure layer, which means that ecological pressures are still in a severe situation. People should try every effort to put forward the environment protection and resources saving.(3) From the space distribution of the ecological safety condition of redline in Jiangsu province, the areas are in good condition as a whole. Of the whole area of redline,3.62% reach to the desirable safe level while 81.24% are relatively ecological safe and 15.14% is at critical state of ecological safety.
