As a lake management technology, lake health assessment can not only analyze the status of the lake each system, find out the problem of the lake, but also monitor the process of lake ecological restoration, then constantly provide feedback information for lake health and adaptive management. Lake health assessment is an important part of the lake ecosystem management, which is of great significance on implementing the most strict water resources management and river basin ecosystem virtuous cycle.This paper set up the Wuliansuhai lake health assessment index system, which consists of three layers (target layer, criterion layer and index layer) and 19 evaluation indexes, and expound the meaning of 19 evaluation indexes’meaning and quantitative methods. At the same time, drawing lessons from the related research results, combined with the actual situation of Wuliangsuhai lake, determine the evaluation criteria of the evaluation indicators and lakes health level of the overall evaluation standards. Choosing hierarchical analysis and entropy weight method to determine the weight of each evaluation index and choosing step by step weighted comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate health level of the lake, set up matting for the lake health evaluation about Wulansuhai Lake scientifically and objectively.This paper constructed the health assessment index system suitable for Wuliangsuhai lake, on the base of following the constructing basic principles of lake health assessment index, according to the evaluation index system to build the basic steps, combining with the actual situation of Wuliangsuhai. Taking the Wuliangsuhai health status as the target layer, hydrology and water resources, physical structure, water quality, biological, and social service function as the criterion layer, the characteristic variables as index layers, established the Wuliangsuhai health assessment index system, consist of 19 evaluation indicators. and expound the meaning of 19 evaluation indexes’meaning and quantitative methods. Determined the criteria for the assessment of the single evaluation index, and lakes health level of the overall evaluation standards, divided Wuliangsuhai health level into ideal status, health, sub-health, unhealthy and pathological five grades.Choosing hierarchical analysis and entropy weight method to determine the weight of the criterion layer and index layer, get the weight of hydrology and water resources, physical structure, water quality, biological, and social service function for Wuliangsuhai health were 0.086,0.086,0.258,0.312,0.258, showing that the biological integrity is of the most important affect on the Wuliangsuhai health.Determine the status of each evaluation index value, through investigating and collecting the Wuliangsuhai status information, and using single index evaluation criteria to measure, The points assigned each evaluation index is determined, choosing step by step weighted comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate health level of the Wuliangsuhai lake, get the scores of hydrology and water resources, physical structure, water quality, biological, and social service function are respectly 80 points,69.93 points, 66.72 points,40.40 points and 70.12 points, and Respectively under ideal conditions, health, health, sub-health and the ideal level.
