The experiment of chemistry teaching theory is one of the main courses for the normal chemical major in higher education institutes. It aims to help the normal students to get the basic skills for independent chemical experiment teaching at middle-school, to improve their research abilities in experimental teaching, and thus to adapt for the requirements of the modern course reformation. Therefore, the concept of project-base education is raised for the purpose of course improvements.The project-based learning is a process that a student completes a series of complicate tasks and solves a set of questions based on a specific project under certain professional supervision. By merging the project-based learning mode with chemistry teaching theory experiment, current work investigates the design, execution and evaluation of the learning mode via its fundamental elements, theoretically and practically. By collecting instant feedbacks from the participants, the practice of project-based learning helps to overcome the drawbacks existing in the teaching mode of chemistry teaching theory experiment. Meanwhile, the project-based learning mode changes the traditional learning method of normal students, helps students get through their bottlenecks during the skill trainings. On the other hand, it also provides practical examples which are critical for the higher normal educations. There are five sections demonstrated in the current work.Part â… . Introduction. A general background of the current study has been elaborated. With the comparisons of chemistry teaching theory experiment and project-based learning in the field of higher education, the aims, meanings, and methodology are addressed.Part â…¡. Theory Exploration. With a throughout study of the literature reviews, the definition, meanings, key factors and other theoretical essentials are hereby illustrated.Part â…¢. Establishment of the Theory Mode. With the analytic method of so-called "5W1H", the detailed criteria have been clarified for the design, execution and evaluation of the project, which leads to the theoretical structure of project-based learning for chemistry teaching theory experiment.Part â…£. Mode Practice. Five stages of the project-based learning process have been investigated: Preparation, Initiation, Execution, Completion and Assessment. The behaviors and actions of teachers and students during these periods are compared. From the aspect of teachers, how people organizes, plans, carries out, and improves the learning process is addressed. On the other hand, how the normal student corporate to progress their studies independently is also hereby studied.Part â…¤. Assessment & Conclusions. By analyzing the group interviews, course auditions, questionnaires and project works, the research results have been assessed. The detailed procedures and deficiencies of the research process are discussed. And, the possibilities of future work are also depicted.
