Base metal super hard grinding wheel (diamond and CBN) in the process of grinding the work pieces produce problems of abrasive wheel passivation and grinding wheel bond blockage, which affect the use of grinding wheels. Therefore, it needs to be trimmed in order to get better using effect. Common methods for trimming the metal bonded grinding wheel dressing is difficult, the subject is the study of the electrical processing technology, based on the gas medium under EDM diamond grinding wheel dressing. The use of gas as the working medium, replacing the conventional liquid, thereby reducing its dependence and reduces the thermal decomposition of the liquid due to the surrounding environment hazards.In this subject, the writer has adopted the CNC grinding wheel dressing system offline, used disc electrode of copper-tungsten alloy material, built experimental platform, improved experimental apparatus. By monitoring the gap of grinding wheel and electrode under different parameters, certified diamond grinding wheel EDM dressing experimental study whether or not non-contact discharge under existing laboratory equipment. Then, according to the voltage, current, pulse width and pulse interval and other electrical parameters of the comparative experiment, compared with the change of the discharge gap, the grinding wheel quality before and after dressing and the surface topography of the grinding wheel dressing diamond grinding wheel under different combinations of electrical parameters, through a series of experiments summarized the law of the impact of electrical parameters on the EDM dressing diamond grinding wheel.
