Recently, with the printing machinery equipment reliability and intelligent level requirement is more and more high, the development cycle is more and more short. The traditional design way of printing machinery fail to meet demands of increasingly fierce market demand. Therefore, improving R & D capability and reduce development costs of printing machinery equipment become a priority.The rapid development and wide application of CAD/CAM technology provides a good platform for the printing machine designed. In mechanical design industry, Pro/Engineer is one of the widely used three-dimensional software owing to its prospective applications for electronic industry, light industry, automobile industry, aerospace and other fields. In the design process of printing machinery, repeat drawing parts is time-consuming. In order to satisfy the actual demands of enterprises, the printing machinery parts library was developed, which use of the secondary development of Pro/Engineer.Firstly, according to GT principle, a set of classification and coding system for printing machinery parts is built through the summary of printing machinery parts function, structure feature and process characteristics. The manufacture and design information is included in the system. Secondly, base on the classification for printing machinery parts, the use of Pro/Engineer family table and feature modeling for three-dimensional modeling of printing machinery parts. And then, organizing the information and save in the Access database for easy printing machinery parts library calls. Finally, the printing machinery parts library system is developed by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 programming platform on Windows7 operating system. Printing machinery parts library system is major composed of user menus and user interface. User menu is using Pro/Toolkit to add Pro/Engineer system menu. Using MFC dialog and Access database developed dynamically user interface to realize the printing machinery parts selection, schematic drawings, specifications and basic information browsing, open and add functions. And then use of dynamic link libraries, enabling communication between Pro/Toolkit and MFC.The establishment of printing machinery parts classification and coding system and parts library system, which is convenient for retrieving design and process information. At the same time, it significant improvement the speed of printing machinery designed, reduce the product error, short the product design to cycle.
