Shirt is an essential element of man’s dressing, and its convenience and abundant styles have successfully attracted a great number of attentions from men. With the development of custom tailored industry, custom shirt becoming the symbol of men’s high grade, the clothing CAD digital technology has become an important way to achieve this goal, This paper is focued on the analysis of structure design method of men’s shirts, selects a way of digital realization, and carries on the extraction and the design parameters, combined the technology of apparel CAD technology with 3D virtual fitting, as a result, setting up a men’s shirt rapid design system including design selection, sample calls and virtual template of the fitting in order to improve the efficiency of men’s shirt pattern design.The first part is the research analysis of men’s shirt style characteristics. To have a good knowledge of the design characteristics and distribution of men’s shirts, By means of image retrieval and the store visit for men’s shirt style research. 245 cases of typical style are chosen as the final template library design system design, and the structure of the garment body, collar and sleeves modelling have been carried on the detailed modelling of classified analysis.The second part is the contrast analysis experiment of men’s shirts pattern design ways and the determination of the way of digital model.To be specific, through literature review and the factory on-the-spot investigation, 6 typical male shirt pattern design ways are choosen as the samples to make a comparision analysis in terms of pattern structure of bodies, collar and sleeve and the actual sample fitting effect. Eventually it gets a method of structure design with high precision to extract the corresponding key parameters and make it digitalized.The third part is the realization of men’s shirt pattern design system. First it builts shirt’s soft pattern model that covers 245 men’s shirt garment body, collar and sleeves, templates by means of parameterized design concept and CAD technology software, and shows the three-dimensional virtual fitting version to verify the accuracy and rationality of the model, which means that if you choose the style and size input, the pattern changes according to the size and you can see the try on effect,which achieves the automation of men’s shirt pattern, so as to improve the efficiency of the clothing customization, Finally with the help of apparel CAD integrated system, it establishs a rapid prototype design system for men’s shirts.This study has set up a system incluing shirt style choosen, shirt pattern CAD flexibility model that can adjust the changes of different style and 3d vitural show, so that we can achieve the goal of men’s shirt pattern automation and improving the customer tailor efficiency, which provides reliable research backgrounds and experiences to the sustainable research and exploration on fast pattern design in garment area.
