With the continuous development of information technology, human living style and values has undergone tremendous changes. Meanwhile, with the gradual improvement of living standards, increasingly environmental pollution and accelerating working pace, people tend to pay more attention to health care methods. Home oxygenerator, which can relieve fatigue caused by human body and nervous system, keep people energetic, and improve working and memory status has been well accepted by the majority of people who are in demand of health care. Although the domestic oxygenerator market is increasingly expanding, a number of restrictions on the production level, management, technology and other conditions have also resulted in the issues of low product design starting point and the lack of design sense. Furthermore, local manufacturers are accustomed to chase short-term commercial value and copy mutually which is contrary to the important principles of emotional design.Currently, the innovation of product homogeneity, multicultural integration and user consuming attitudes have led to the tendency that emotional design become a key research direction of industrial design. This paper concentrates on user’s emotion, synthesizes theories of emotional design and Quantified Theory Ⅰ, researches on the relationship between user’s emotion image and product shape characteristics, and concludes the method for quantizing user’s emotion image on product shape design. This research is divided into four phases: Firstly, This paper focuses on the emotional design research for home oxygen oxygenerator, outlines the background, purpose and significance, and emphasizes the importance of emotional design for home oxygenerator design. Then the emotional design and related concepts are introduced to demonstrate the design theories, development status and social significance, determine the research scope and theoretical basis of the article. Thirdly, on the basis of former researches, with applying kansei engineering theory, user’s preference and substantial design goal of domestic oxygenator form design are raised. The morphological analysis method is utilized to extract the attributes of form characteristics which can calculate the relevance with user’s perception image sense on the basis of Quantified Theory Ⅰ. Fianlly, the optimized concept design scheme is obtained by the establishment and solution of mathematical model between perception image sense and form attributes.The result indicates the proposed design procedure and method which are based on user experience and quantitative analyses are of relatively high convenience and pertinence. Additionally, this method is conducive to the optimization of product design progress, and provide theoretical and practical reference for further research on home medical equipment design.
