Owing to many advantages of the CNC turret punch, such as high efficiency, high automation and low production cost, so it got more and more extensive application, but its problems of vibration and noise are increasingly outstanding with the continuous improvement of its speed and tonnage. The punch’s frame is the supporting foundation of the punch, and it is an important part of the punch, so the research for its dynamic and static characteristics and structural optimization is particularly important.The frame of HPR-3048 CNC turret punch is taken as the research object in this paper, the initial finite element model of frame is updated by taking advantage of the results of the experimental modal analysis. On this basis, its dynamic and static characteristics and radiated noise are studied by making use of finite element method, and its structure is optimized under the situation of meeting the requirements of actual work. Following is the specific contents:1. According to the results of the experimental modal, the correlation analysis based on the experimental model and finite element model is studied, and by taking the results of the experimental modal as the reference, the experimental modal frequency and MAC value as the goal, and the design parameters of finite element model as the updating variables, the initial finite element model of frame is updated.2. The static response of the frame supporting nominal force is analyzed, meanwhile the time history curve of blanking force is calculated by utilizing the DEFORM-2D, and by taking it as the exciting force, the dynamic response of the frame supporting cycle impact is researched, at the same time, the dynamic stiffness and strength are analyzed. The primary modes are found through the modal participation factor to provide guidance for structural optimization.3. Vibration and noise tests of CNC turret punch are taken, and the main noise source is identified by the contrast of their frequency spectrum analysis. The radiated noise field of CNC turret punch is simulated based on acoustical finite element method, and the acoustic quantity of the surface and field points is analyzed.4. Making use of topology optimization, the punch’s frame is optimized through four schemes to seek the best material layout. Then the thicknesses of frame’s plate are parameterized by HyperStudy, and the analysis of the experiment design is taken by taking the results of constraint modal analysis and static analysis as the responses, the optimal solution is searched by the established surfaces of response.
