Ladle turret is a crucial connecting equipment on the continuous casting machine.Its role is to keep the exchange of the full ladel and the empty ladel,so as to ensure continuous casting of steel.The perfection of its function and the safety of its structure play a critical role in the production of the continuous casting machine.This thesis,with the method of finite element analysis,conducts an analysis of the general structure of the parallel four link type ladle turret,elaborates on the designing process of the ladle turret,and arrives at the conclusion of the possibility of minimization design.Then this thesis carries out a minimization design of the ladle turret on the condition of ensuring the safety of its general structure.The main content of this thesis includes two parts.(1)Design of the general structure of the ladle turret.The process mainly includes the following steps:Calculation and check of the driving system based on the loading and rotation of the ladle turret;Calculation and check of performance meshing of the slewing bearing and the minor gears;By setting up a calculation model of the ladle turret which tips over due to unbalanced loading,this thesis conducts a calculation and check of the stress of the foundation bolt;The thesis also includes force distribution analysis of the ladle turret,including force at the joint hinge points and the lifting cylinders,and the selection of the bearings and the lifting cylinders is based on this result.ladle turret goes through the process of initial design--calculation and check--second design--calculation and check,until it meets the requirements of the technology.(2)Minimization design.The 3D model of the ladle turret is created with Pro/E.Then the model is simplified in a reasonable way and imported into HyperMesh.A finite element mesh division of the general structure of the ladle turret is created in HyperMesh,thus creating a finite element calculation model.Through a finite element analysis of the general structure of the ladle turret and a study of the stress nephogram and the displacement nephogram,it is known that the intensity of rotating arm,lift arm,turntable,base,and connecting rod is excessive to a great extent,thus a necessity for the minimization design.Through the process of minimization design--finite element analysis--minimization design again,the end of reducing the weight of te ladle turret is achieved on the condition of ensuring its safety.Through a study of the general structure and the minimization design of the ladle turret,this thesis provides a method and procedure for the design of the general structure of the ladle turret.The minimization design of the ladle turret can reduce waste and bring huge economic benefits for the enterprise.It also paves the way for the popularization of the minimization design to other core parts of the continuous casting machine.
