Monorail crane is a key component in the modern auxiliary transportation in coal mine, mainly conveying the equipment, material and workers.The brake system is used to guarantee the safety of the monorail crane transportation system, applying a brake when the monorail crane needs to stop in running conditions, stop on the slope and brake in an emergency. The technology of China’s auxiliary transportation starts relatively late,design and manufacturing level of monorail crane and relative equipment depend on developed countries to a large extent, with lack of independent research and design in this field. Studying on the monorail crane brake system and designing a safe set of brake system are of great significance to ensuring safety production of coal mine.,the following aspects are researched in the paper.(1)In this paper, the several commonly used mechanism of monorail brake system are analyzed,through the actual research on the monorail crane and relevant information.Then summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various brake mechanism and a key series of structural dimensions are determined. and the material of the friction plate is analyzed and the copper-tin alloy was determined as the brake material.On this basis, a new monorail crane pin slide caliper brake mechanism design was developed and disc spring,hydraulic cylinders and other key components type –selection was mentioned.(2)According to the special structure and working method of the monorail crane pin slide caliper brake, a new braking force sensor was developed and a braking force monitoring was developed with an external measurement circuit, supervising the brake when the monorail crane system is working.(3)A hydraulic control simulation model of the monorail crane brake system was developed in AMESim in this paper: simulate the unloading time of the brake cylinder in the spring force,in order to verify whether the response time of the braking system to meet the requirements of the coal regulations.(4)A three dimensional solid model was established and imported to ADAMS software to make the dynamic science simulation.Through the simulation of the brake action,the braking performance of the monorail crane pin slide caliper brake was obtained and verified to achieve the coal regulations.
