The so-called insert-column hydraulic support, created by Institute of Mining Machinery of China University of Mining and Technology independent, aims at solving the instability problem induced by the lemniscates of the four connection-rod support. This type of support has advantages on safety, stability, applicability and economy. The simplicity of the structure, low weight, easily to move and good mechanical performance can meet the requirements of medium and small mines.The insert-column hydraulic support has removed the conventional four connection-rod structure. Therefore, in order to confirm the feasibility of the design of the new support, the ability of resistance of eccentric load is necessary to be studied. Ensure the stability and reliability of the support and promote the development of the hydraulic support.The new type of support is choosed as the research object in this paper. The structure of the support is designed detailedly. The major parts are modeled and the entire support is assembled by Pro/E.The space force is analyzed on the support with a eccentric load condition. The strength of the hinge pin with eccentric force is analyzed theoretically. The results are validated by the FEM model. The ability to resist horizontal force of the inserted column is also analyzed to validate the strength.The mechanism of the complex dangerous combination of the eccentric load of the top beam and the load state of bottom is analyzed with static analysis by ansys workbench. The stress nephogram of the support and the major parts can be illustrated. The support can meet the requirements in a eccentric load condition according to the results.The impact force of different movements of roof in the stope are analyzed theoretically. The displacement curve and the variation of stresses of the support under the action of impact load are also illustrated with the application of the transit dynamics in eccentric load conditions by simulation.This paper analyses the anti-eccentric load ability of the insert-column hydraulic support systemically. The paper may provide some references in researching and developing of hydraulic support in the future.
