The developments of electronic technology and servo control combines with theadvancement of the technology of manufacturing integrated circuit greatly promote thedevelopment of the AC servo drive industry. With the merits of quick response and precisepositioning, AC servo drive system has become a key technology in industries of machine tool, textile, package and industrial robots, and has received lots of applications in these industrialareas. The market potential of the AC servo drive is huge and therefore, has received greatattention at home and abroad. Developing the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)driving system is the key to the shift from producing country to technology powerhouse. However, the design of a high-performance servo drive system involves multiple disciplinesand expertise, rapid development of a high-precision, good performance, wide range of speedcontrolling and precise position controlling servo drive system is still a technical difficult indomestic machinery and electronics industry. In this paper, the common mathematical model of PMSM and the basic principles ofvector control theory of PMSM and the voltage space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) are first introduced, the voltage space vector pulse width modulation algorithm isrealized by using Simulink which is a component of Matlab. Simulation analysis is conductedto the AC servo drive system that employs the rotor flux vector control. Current loop, velocityloop and position loop of a AC servo drive system that employs Anti-Windup PI Controller issimulated. Then, the hardware device of a DSP-based AC servo drive system is built.According to the block-based design, by using of embedded development tools, the design ofthe current loop and velocity loop of a AC motor servo system is made. This all-digitalrealization is more intuitive, and also the system is less susceptible to the interference ofexternal environment. Finally, experiments are done on the hardware platform of theDSP-based AC servo drive system. Although the results of the experiments are not as good asthat of the simulation, the expected goal is achieved in principle.
