With the rapid development of China’s electric power system and communicationtechnology continually improving, the current power communication protocol is in a mess,different manufacturers’ IED device interface and data transfer is not compatible, the current"islands of information" can’t meet the substation automation require development. AfterIEC61850raised and expanded in second edition, as a unified communications protocolstandard for substation automation communication systems, IEC61850found a way to solvecurrently protocols not uniform, various IED equipment interoperability problems, improvingsubstation automation system operation efficiency. Research on IEC61850substationcommunication system using mapped to the underlying communication protocol method,make use of XML and JAVA to solve problems, get great value on the application of research.IEC61850standard is the latest international unity on the substation automation system(SAS) and communication network protocols. In this paper, using the idea of a hierarchicalmodel of communication to build SAS abstract data models and services models to ensureconnectivity of SAS. Design in the paper focuses on the IEC61850ACSI mapping to MMS.ACSI maps to MMS from the basic data types mapping、objects models mapping toservices mapping through dedicated research and analysis. MMS can be achieved basedcommunication network structure type TCP/IP+Ethernet. By analyzing the object-orientedmethod, do research on how to exchange the data communications work through an abstractcommunication service interface, and using P2P technology to develop TCP/IPcommunications with the JXTA platform. Use SCL configuration files as the UnifiedModeling substation automation communication systems Configuration files. The ASN.1encoding through MMS messages to be sent to the P2P over TCP/IP, using the JAVAlanguage ASN.1encoding conversion technology to achieve exchange MMS messages,enabling fast, efficient, reliable, and economical data transmission.This paper, an object-oriented substation automation communication system designed toachieve a variety of information exchanges and interoperability within the substation IEDs byusing P2P techniques based on JXTA platform. The SAS communication system work withthe principle of IEC61850. IEC61850-related research driven applications in China’s electricpower utilities, and to deepen the understanding and study of IEC61850standard has furthersignificance.
