Compared with ordinary train, high-speed railway has unique advantages, it haslarger passenger, larger transport capacity and higher speed, at the same time itspunctuality rate and comfort are better. Our country has speeded up the pace ofhigh-speed railway since the beijing-tianjing inter-city railway operations in1.8.2008.Compared with common trains, high-speed trains have shorter time to correct andavoid the accident because of the higher speed. Against the above backdrop, it’snecessary to design a reliable and real-time safety monitoring system.According to the specific requirements of the high-speed rail, this paper hasdesigned a system which can monitor the safety parameters about high-speed rail inreal time. The information collected by this system can send in real time, as the basisof traffic department to ensure safety. In this paper, the research questions include theoverall design of the system, the selection of the sensor, the design of the software andhardware and the graphical development of the terminal.In view of the characteristics of the system technology, taking S3C2440processor with rich hardware resources and ARM9-based kernel as the core chip. Bycomparing the performance parameters of various sensors, we choose the standardsensor, complemented by other chips and external circuit, and then finish thehardware design. In the aspect of software design, this paper use embedded Linux asits operating system and Qt as its graphical development tools. Through thedevelopment of hardware driver and design of software, the data monitored by thesensors was transmitted to the main controller for processing and upload to thecomputer for saving. The data is processed by the ARM processor and stored in a PC,and the communication with ARM and PC based on TCP/IP protocol. This design cannot only make full use of the operation ability of ARM processor, but also considerthe security of data storage.
