Along with the global expansion of consumer culture, the development ofarchitectural space emerged increasingly diversified and complicated trend. Moderncommercial complex construction is undergoing a profound change. The atriumspace, which is the most dynamic and characteristic component element ofcommercial complex, brings us new development opportunity. However, The erahave entrusted us an urgent task to create a good quality of atrium space, andprovide a practical design strategy for the development of atrium space, in order thatthe Commercial Complex will develop in an optimizing way.This subject, which is based on the background of the research and the analysisof current situation at home and abroad, systematically elaborated characteristics,development of the atrium space and the relationship between the atrium space withconsumption culture. Based on the research about20examples of domesticcommercial complex, this article analyzed the current development situation of theatrium space and problems existed. At the same time, according to the analysis ofthe influence by consumer cultures on the atrium space, this article showed us thatthe differential consumption, experiential consumption and visual consumption arebecoming new development mechanisms of the atrium space. And on this basis, thisarticle put forward the design principle, and proposed new design strategy on spacefunction, space form and space environment with guidance from theconsumer culture. At the end, it is a demonstration analysis on the basis ofapplication of related cases and practice project, to reveal the practical significanceand operability of the research.This subject attempts to analysis the design of the Atrium Space of CommercialComplex from the perspective of consumer culture, find out the way to deal with theconsumer culture change, so as to improve the theory and design methods of ourspace system on Commercial Complex. I wish it will be helpful for Atrium Spacewithin the consumer culture.
