Intelligent substation is an important node in the intelligent power network. Itsmain features are the "primary equipment intelligent, secondary equipmentnetworked and compliance with IEC61850standard". The substation informationdigitizing, information transmission networking, communication model standardizedand a variety of devices and functions share unified information platform is included.Compared with the conventional substation, the reliability, economy and thesimplicity of maintain of the system are all improved significantly. Theintellectualized reconstruction of a110kV traditional substation is deeply studied inthis article.The research status of intelligent substation at home and abroad is introducedfirst. With the topic of intellectualized reconstruction of traditional substation, thesignificance and content is explained in this article.Next, based on the intelligent technical specifications, the traditional110kvsubstation is retrofitted by the reconstruction scheme of intelligent design, which ison the improvement of substation as primary equipment intelligent and secondaryequipment networked. Firstly, the primary equipment such as isolating switch andswitch cabinets should get replaced while running dangerously, and the conditionmonitoring is added in the pivotal primary equipment. Secondly, since the “primaryequipment” and “secondary equipment” is relatively difficult to be integrated, theprocess and Interval-layer stratified design are proposed, and the structure of “threelayers two networks” is used to analogy and to select the three networking modes inthis article. Thirdly, compared and argued the three types scheme of transformerprotection configuration, the two sets of protected configuration and theimplementation scheme for different range of differential protection are get used, and the typical configuration are proposed in Relay Protection and automaticdevices in the substation. Fourthly, the key technologies of intelligent substation foradvanced use are piloted actively, and some modification embodiments are made inthe station auxiliary systems to get accumulated practical experience for subsequentreconstruction project.Then, with the summary of intellectualized reconstruction of key technicalpoints and execute solution, a typical experience is formed. At the same time, thecorrective recommendations based on the technical innovation in management andtechnical issues are presented, and the technical requirements in the aspects ofoperation and maintenance after the intellectualized substation reconstruction areproposed.Finally, via the practice of a110kV substation reconstruction, the advancementand reliability of intelligent substations is verified in the operation of power network.The significance of this study is elaborated, and the intellectualized reconstruction ofthe traditional substations is discussed."Three layers two networks" layered design structure which is used in thisarticle. The proposed executive plan of intellectualized reconstruction of maintransformer protection and the typical experience in the reconstruction of the keytechnical summary have better application value in the intellectualizedreconstruction of traditional substations.
