The object name service is an important part of internet of things for heat meter and itis mainly used for the mapping management of electronic product code to thecorresponding EPCIS server address and quering. Its architecture and the load capacity ofroot ONS directly affect the efficiency of ONS query. In addition, the insecurity in ONSquery process is likely to cause privacy disclosure of users. Through a comprehensiveanalysis of the current research status at homeland and abroad, this paper makes anexploratory research on the object name service system.Firstly, this paper introduces the basic knowledge of the internet of things for heatmeter, including the concept of the internet of things, its architecture, the architecture ofthe internet of things for heat meter, the ONS system architecture and work processes, aswell as EPC encoding rules and format conversion.Secondly, this paper proposes multi-root ONS server architecture, and based on thearchitecture, a root ONS load balancing algorithm is proposed. Queries can be reasonablyallocated to each root ONS, so that the root ONS group achieves load balancing and theload capacity of ONS system of the internet of things for heat meter is improved.Thirdly, a encryption algorithm for the object name service system is proposed. Acertificate authority is introduced, it interacts with client application and the ONS server, and generates their public and private key pairs. Using Mixed encryption technology, combined with ECC and AES encryption algorithms, the algorithm encrypts the messageswhich are transmitted between the ONS server and the client application to ensure securityof ONS query. Finally, the validity of the proposed algorithms is verified by experiments, and thecomparative analysis of similar algorithms is given.
