In recent years, there’s strong demand for vehicle monitoring system because of therapid increase for vehicle using in the general public.The current vehicle monitoringsystems vary greatly in design, most merely realize part function of the monitoringsystem, which has the strong pertinence and small application scope. The existingvehicle monitoring field lacks of a platform with strong processing ability and easyextension. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a unified, high efficiency, widecoverage, universal monitoring system. So, this thesis carries out a study of vehiclemonitoring and fault diagnosis system base on3G Network. Its purpose is to to solvethe monitoring problem of functional singleness, narrow range of applications, instablenetwork speed, and finally to improve the monitoring effect.Combined with the technical advantage of embedded system and maturingtechnology of electronic monitoring field, a monitoring scheme of vehicle monitoringand fault diagnosis system based on3G network is prosed, and developing prototypesystem to verify the correctness and practicability of the theory.Firstly, this thesis introduces the background of the vehicle monitoring system, andmakes a detailed analysis of the status quo of domestic and foreign research andexisting problems. Then, this thesis analyzes the monitoring system and the monitoringcontent. Furthermore, the detailed design of hardware and software scheme is putforward base on the monitoring platform. After analysis and comparison, the WindowsCE software system model is adopted.Second, according to the functional requirements and characteristics of thesoftware and hardware platform, combined with the key points of the thesis, thefollowing modules are studied in detail including OBD information acquisition based onCAN-BUS, video monitoring acquisition, GPS navigation technology,3Gcommunication driver, touch screen driver. Futhermore, these modules is analyzed indetail from the aspects of technical scheme and the hardware and software design.Finally, this thesis introduces the method and implementation of vehiclemonitoring and fault diagnosis system, and makes a concrete analysis theimplementationprocedureincluding selection of terminal and background managementplatform development environment, realization of the data communication between theupper and lower machine, transplantation of BSP system and kernel upgrading scheme. Atlast, a corresponding prototype system is developed, and then completling the moduletesting work, achieving the desired effect.
