Research On Gentrification Phenomenon Influence On Architectural Space In Traditional Historical Block

The renewal of old city in domestic, especially the renewal of the traditionalhistorical and cultural blocks, often by draw into the high-end commercial，theindustrial or the high-end consumer groups. It can improve much the block housing,landscape or other material conditions,the blocks of municipal facilities, the safetyfacilities. At the same time, it often occurs the replacement of the community population,the economic social and other social relationship in gentrification.This way of renewalhas the advantage of guarantee the capital, increase the incomes, improve the conditionsof material landscape environment and so on. But the gentrification in the conservationand renewal process of Chinese traditional historical and cultural blocks, ofteninevitably appears some negative effects. In the view of the gentrification happens in thehistorical and cultural blocks, this paper tries to do the analysis of empiricalinvestigation.According to whether the occurrence of the replacement in the communitypopulation, the economic social and other social relationship is in active, this paperdivide the gentrification in the historical and cultural blocks into two modes, namely thecontinuation of the active replacement pattern of gentrification and the passivereplacement patterns of the gentrification. First the paper do a comparative analysis ofthe two modes of gentrification in the process of the conservation and renewal ofhistorical and cultural blocks of Tianzifang and Xintiandi in Shanghai, to find thecultural common differences in the spatial, social or other material protection. Thenthe paper do a depth research and analysis of the historical and cultural blocks of theThree Alleys and Seven Lanes, which mixed the two patterns of gentrificationtogether,to find the changes in ancient architecture and space, to find the problems andthe solutions in the protection and renovation in the "gentrification" types.
