China’s urbanization process makes a lot of population and social resource focustoo much on the city, it also leads to the shortage of land in city centre. To address theshortage of urban residential land, housing form develops to high-rise has becomingan inevitable trend. With the increase of the layer numbers of high-rise residential, thefactors which want to be considered have become complicated, besides, it makes thestructural design tasks heavy. In order to improve design efficiency, designers usuallymake quick design by experience and routine which are conservative and diseconomy.So, using seismic design concept and structure design concept have an importantpractical significance on the optimal design of high-rise residential. According to thetarget of building structures (security, economic and applicable), this paper focus onthe optimal design research of structure selection and shear wall arrangement ofhigh-rise residential. The main contents are as follows:1.Introducing the development background, classification and characteristics ofhigh-rise residential and concluding the architectural form, operational requirementand suitable structure system. Stating the current situation of structure optimal designand optimization approach. Summarizing various lateral resistant systems of concretehigh-rise residential buildings and some correlative theory of lateral resistant systems.2.This paper select a typical high-rise residential building program in6degreesseismic fortification zone of Nanchang and build six different lateral resistantstructural system models. Comparing the overall performance of each architecturefrom with a number of overall control index. Furtherly, it also analyze the economy ofstructure and investigate the effects of the material selection on cost. With thecomparison of the effects on using effect of high-rise residential building’s structuresystem, we can choose a more reasonable, economic and applicable structural system.3.Comprehensive studying on the impact of the position, length, thickness ofshear walls and concrete strength on the overall stiffness of the structure.Summarizing that how to optimize shear wall structure setting can ensure a goodeconomy and using effect of structure.Selecting a super-tall residential as an example to make an optimization research of general shear wall structure system. Finally,providing some optimized design principles and methods of super high-riseresidential for shear walls setting.
