Assembly is the last and one of the most important stages of aerospace products manufacture.Whether it is good or not the assembly has a direct impact on the overall performance of the finalproduct. An aerospace assembly workshop production management is still the traditional way ofproduction management, with low production efficiency. The concept and technology of JITproduction are introduced into aerospace production assembly in this paper in order to construct a JITassembling management system for aerospace products, and to develop a prototype system ofaerospace products JIT assembly management.First, the theory and architecture of just-in-time production as well as its characteristics isanalyzed in this paper. By constructing organizational structure of aerospace products assemblymanagement, combined with researches on implementing basis and means of aerospace products JITassembly management, a JIT assembly management system for aerospace products is established.Finally, a JIT assembly management system model for aerospace products is designed.Then, based on the current status of assembly production management and demand of assemblymanagement informatization for aerospace enterprise, the system structure, the framework forapplication and service have been chosen. In addition, system deployment scheme and networkenvironment have been planned. At the same time, roles for users and functions of modules have beendesigned. Then data models for each module and a database have been designed for the JIT assemblymanagement system for aerospace products.Finally, the JIT assembly management system has been developed by using several techniquesand tools. Several function models in this system have been built, which includes mixed flowplanning and scheduling, assembly dispatching, assembly process Kanban, material distributionKanban, assembly quality Kanban, system management, and integrate management, etc. Generally,this system provides an informatizational way to improve the efficiency of assembly management foraerospace products.
