With the development of highway transport undertakings, highway safety hasincreasingly become the focus of attention. Accident statistics show that the proportion ofaccidents caused by trucks is growing, and casualties and property loss are huge. In thewind, rain, snow, fog, dust and other adverse weather conditions, truck in the small radiuscurve sections and a combination of radius curve and longitudinal slope are more prone toaccidents, leading to serious road traffic gridlock. This paper mainly focus on the role ofcross wind, road conditions, trucks and other aspects of research, in order to reveal the roleof the truck under crosswind conditions for safe driving, in order to take engineeringmeasures and management measures to ensure the safe operation of the truck in thehighway.The paper collects extensive research literature and data under adverse weather abouthighway traffic safety at home and abroad, analyzes the wind effect on traffic safety and theimpact of security measures, according to weaknesses and gaps in existing research results,by literature analysis, the main contents and technical route of this paper are proposed.The paper combines the basic aerodynamic theory, analyzes the effect of thesix-component of aerodynamics, establishes truck aerodynamics coordinate system andgives the basic formula of six-component. Through wind tunnel testing, chooses truck as amodel, the wind speed8m/s and13m/s, the wind attack angle of0°and90°, the wind actingon the truck to get a six-component coefficients, thereby quantifying a six-component forceacting on the truck.From people, vehicles, roads and wind environment four aspects, the paper analyzesthe impact of truck operational safety risk factors. From aspect of people factor,the paperrefers to driver’s mental, physical and driving experience in the driving process. The mainaspects of road conditions, includes road geometrics, road conditions and road transportfacilities. Trucks aspect includes truck braking performance, speed and centroid height.Crosswind aspect includes wind direction and cross-wind velocity. Based on the abovefactors, under crosswind action on the truck in the small radius curve sections and acombination of radius curve and longitudinal slope, force model is established, and truck traffic safety conditions is derived under the effect of crosswind. The truck safe drivingspeed is obtained by calculating in different wind velocity.Aiming highway truck traffic risk factors under crosswind, based on Chapter2,Chapters3and4theoretical research, truck traffic safety engineering measures andmanagement strategies under crosswind are proposed, to ensure safe driving of truck on thecomplex sections of highway. Thereby increasing the safety of trucks driving on complexsections of highway, reduce truck accidents in complex sections of highway undercrosswind. Significance of the paper is to reduce the loss of life and property, to protect thesecurity of highway transport undertakings.
