A good auxiliary system can help the driver complete the overtaking maneuver muchsafer. Traditional auxiliary overtaking system used video technology and radar technology,which were easy to have the effects on the complex external environment, the limiteddetection range and other factors. It led to difficult to get information between cars and cars.However, the short-range wireless communication technology can effectively solve the aboveproblems and bring a new opportunity to the development of auxiliary overtaking system.This paper tried to get a study from the establishment about overtaking mathematicalmodel, the corresponding algorithm, MFC application software programming and the ZigBeecommunication technology that apply to auxiliary overtaking system. In the establishment ofovertaking mathematical model, the paper proposed two different overtaking models underthe conditions of different speed difference: constant overtaking and acceleration overtaking.This paper tried to get a calculation of safe overtaking distance through collecting parametersof vehicle speed and the distance between the cars; and get a corresponding overtakingprogram, algorithms and application software that is mainly to realize the overtaking modelprogram, and try to realize user and computer‘s information exchange by MFC controlprogramming. ZigBee communication technology mainly focuses on achievingcommunication plans that based on Z-STACK protocol stack‘s car-car communication schemeand overtaking singles simulation and transmission.In summary, this paper presented a realization plan which was a auxiliary overtakingsystem that based on overtaking car communication system. It simulated a process of thedrive communicate with the front of cars by using vehicle terminal; learn a safety distance toovertake and real-time overtaking programs. Through simulation data analysis to verify thefeasibility of the method and can effectively reduce the occurrence of overtaking accidents.
