Overtaking is a common driving behavior that improves driving efficiency.However,the Improper overtaking not only affects driving comfort and driving efficiency,but also is one of the important causes of traffic accidents.Relying on the vehicle-road dynamic information real-time interaction provided by the technology of intelligent cooperative vehicle infrastructure system,which not only provides reasonable overtaking assistance advice for the drivers,but also reminds the surrounding vehicles to drive safely.This method can enhance the vehicle traffic perception of traffic effectively and provide low cost overtaking assistance for the driver from the aspects of safety,comfort and efficiency.This paper conducts an in-depth study on overtaking assistance strategy,the model of overtaking trajectory and the assistant strategy based on overtaking cost based on the cooperative vehicle infrastructure system.And then the vehicle overtaking auxiliary hardware and software system based on overtaking cost is designed and implemented in the environment of cooperative vehicle infrastructure.Firstly,this paper builds a scene of the vehicle overtaking based on DSRC in the environment of cooperative vehicle infrastructure after studying of cooperative vehicle infrastructure system and the overtaking assistance's requirement.Secondly,a multi-curve fusion overtaking trajectory mathematical model with safety,comfort and high efficiency is established by comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the three typical overtaking trajectories of trapezoidal,circular and trigonometric functions.A costing model based on safety,comfort and time is proposed and deduced and compensated by the error of time and distance to reduce the overtaking cost calculation error.After that,an overtaking assistance strategy based on the costing model is established to provide reasonable overtaking decisions for drivers and is verified by way of instantiation.Thirdly,the frame structure of vehicle overtaking auxiliary system based on the overtaking cost model is designed and a vehicle overtaking auxiliary prototype system of MK5 DSRC communication equipment,integrated navigation system and Android car terminal is built from hardware configuration and software development.Finally,the overtaking strategy and the function of overtaking auxiliary system are tested and analyzed by means of modular verification and whole function test in the real cooperative vehicle infrastructure environment of overtaking experiment scenario.The result shows that the overtaking model proposed by this paper is close to the overtaking behavior in the overtaking distance and overtaking time in the real scene basically in the case of driving comfort during overtaking.Besides,the overtaking assistance system will provide overtaking vehicles with a reasonable overtaking proposal of safety,comfort and efficiency,and also provides a free enough overtaking option with the average accuracy rate of overtaking recommendations is 83.4% for the driver to reduce the cost of overtaking in the premise of ensuring safety.The system broadcasts the hint of overtaking when overtaking timely and effectively with the average response rate of overtaking prompt is 96.7%.The system meets the application requirements for overtaking assistance in reality and has a reference significance to the study of overtaking controlling in the automatical vehicles.
