This article regards ship IBS system as the research target, studied network architectureof IBS, designed Gigabit redundancy optic fiber ring network, integrated heterogeneousfield bus through the use of OPC, designed VB monitoring scheme of field equipmentinformation. The major work completed as follows:(1) Studied IBS system and the network core functions, designed integrated networkstructure, system structure, function of Gigabit fiber ring network, using Gigabit ring fiberredundancy, server redundancy and double power supply redundancy design, realized thecore functional redundancy of IBS network.(2) Studied information integration method of heterogeneous field bus, through avariety of techniques comparison, selected OPC as heterogeneous network solutions of thissystem. Studied the basis of OPC technology related to the COM/DCOM principle,technical specification and data access method. Developed client by application of OPCtechnology, and realized data exchange between OPC client and different servers.(3) Completed the design and implementation of IBS layer information monitoringsoftware. Designed electric propulsion controlling system software, real-time database andhistory database. Developed client program to realize data acquisition and monitoringfunctions, including OPC server connection, database module, alarm module, monitoringinterface module and so on.(4) Tested function of overall network structure and monitoring software. Analyzedsoftware and hardware environment, test procedure, test requirements and expected testresults we should meet. Tested recovery time of the whole network structure, investigatedwhether the Gigabit fiber ring network can converge automatically in the event of a failure,whether automatic recovery time meet industrial requirements, and alarm function ofnetwork fault. Function test of monitoring software included VB client and real-time,accuracy, data display, alarm controlling functions, database storage functions of OPCserver data exchange.This paper unified data access interface through IBS network integration design andfield bus integration scheme based on OPC technology, so that the original equipment andinstruments in different places can be centralized monitoring and operated in a unifiedplatform, realized the integration and sharing of information, ensured the safety, reliability and maintainability of the whole system, improved the management level and the degree ofautomation of ships to a certain extent.
