According to the blue print of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Project, the TheThird Stage Program will be put into practice in the year around2017. As aprocedure of the The Third Stage Program, an ascender took of from the lunarsurface will dock to an orbiter-returner which surround the lunar200km circular orbitand deliver a sample container which filled with lunar soil to it. Since China neverhas such successful operations, researching and developing new kinds of dockingmechanism is of great significant. On account of this, my thesis has presented a newkind of docking and sample transferring mechanism, and analyze d its workingperformance in space environments on the basis of virtual prototype technology.The main contents of this thesis is as follows:1.Introduce the background and significance of researching and developingdocking and sample transferring mechanism; Comprehensively describe the type ofconstruction, the technical characteristics of formerly docking mechanism s; Making ageneral survey of past docking operations and considering the mission of a dockingtask, the thesis make a forecast of a future docking systems.2.Introduce the structural composition, the principle of function, the manner ofworking of the presented docking mechanism. Calculate the mass properties of eachcomponent, making sure that this design proposal accord with design requirements.3.Introduce the full life mechanical environments of a docking mechanism, andthen define a stiffness requirements as well as strength criterion for the presentedmechanism; Explain the modal analysis method of a un-damped free vibrationmechanism; In order to understand the strength and stiffness of the presentedmechanism, using ABAQUS software to calculate moda l frequency and overloadcapacity.4.Briefly introduce the characteristic and advantage of ADAMS software.Overall describe the modeling process and specially introduced some key links indetail.5.Briefly describe the implication as well as the method to calculate initialconditions feasible region. Use control variable method to calculate the feasibleregion of each variable. Set a comprehensive feasible region which take all variablesinto account. Monte Carlo analysis proved that this feasible region is effective. 6.Introduce the implication of motion reliability and explain the theoretical basisof Monte Carlo method. Qualitatively analyze how kinematic friction can affectmotion reliability. Use ADAMS/Insight Monte Carlo method to calculate thepresented docking mechanism motion reliability on condition that the mechanismworks under initial conditions of non-deviation and maximum deviation.
