With the continunous development of the national smart grid, the information security becomes the most important basis problem which is worth of widely attention in the construction process of the smart grid. As a basic part of the smart grid, smart distribution grid (SDG) is a key link for the users of smart generation, transmission, distribution and utilization. It needs a secure and high-efficient communication platform to ensure the data availability, integrity, confidentiality, so as to ensure the quality of the user’s electricity.This papper is aimed at taking passive optical network (PON)-SDG communication platform. Firstly, we introduce the communication structure of PON-SDG and analyze its security threats deeply. Then basing on this we propose a technical idea which integrates high-efficient subcarrier multiplexed quantum key distribution (SCM-QKD) into PON-SDG Next, as for the three typical topological forms, namely the tree-form, hand-in-hand form and the chain form, the quantum bit-error-rate (QBER) for PON utilizing SCM-QKD technology and the parameters of quantum sifted-key-generation-rate(Rsift) and useful key rate (Rnet) are theoretically calculated. Calculation and analysis results show that under typical link length of PON and power-split-ratio parameters the SCM-QKD technology can meet the demand on information security of PON-SDG communication service. Finally,the distribution method of sharing quantum keys between optical line terminal(OLT) and optical network unit(ONU) is given, and then the concrete implementation flow-diagram of the two-way identity authentication and the generation process of the session key between OLT and ONU are given. This papper analyzes the feasibility of the implementation flow-diagram. Analysis shows that the scheme can effectively realize the two-way authentication and communication data encryption in communication between the two sides in PON-SDG communication platform, and can guarantee the uncondition security of the result. This paper’s result can provide a new idea for the smart distribution communication system with the information security.
