A Study On The Improvement Of Toilet And Household Garbage Infrastructure In Guan’ Gou Historic Village

●ABSTRACT:At present,the protection of traditional villages getting more concern, efforts to improve the construction increased gradually. How to keep balance between protection and development is the key to the question. The infrastructure in historic villages especially toilet and household garbage, becomes the core elements that restrict the development as the true of chronic lacking maintenance and improvement.Guan’gou historic village is one of the historic villages in Yangquan city, Shanxi Province. Its challenges in improving the toilet and household garbage are typical in Shanxi, therefore.Guan’gou is selected as a case. Guan’gou historic was built in mid-Qing Dynasty and finished in the Republic of China, it was used as the Zhangs’ private courtyard, there are3groups of courtyards in the history village,36families,including152people live in it. The village is distinguished by its configuration and architectural art. The configuration and traditional buildings in Guan’gou are well protected, most of these courtyards have villagers lived in and the resident’s frame is remained as well. With the urbanization of Yangquan city, local government has taken steps to improve the human settlement, however, current improvement is far from comprehensive, especially on the side of toilet and household garbage collection. Problems are solved in rude ways as restricted by topography. Neither does the shit nor the garbage is well disposed, residents’ bad living habit and sanitary condition are very terrible. This may impact the historic village’s feature and the quality of the environment, and increase the possibility of local disease and infectious disease.This thesis combines with the national subject research, through access to local literature, mapping photographs, interviews with residents, conclude a detailed summary of in-depth investigation. The paper focuses on technical contradiction, the most obvious one in Guan’gou, between protection and development, based on theory, cases and the residents’ needs to come up with the strategy on the improvement of toilet and household garbage. This thesis provides a research and improve method of infrastructure,as well as gives a advice in improving the toile、garbage collection facility、transportation,the new structure should be in harmony with configuration traditional buildings and historic roads,choosing the transportation without destroying current facility and affecting residents.The thesis provide a strategy on improvement of facility,as well as the key points in management,in this way, the improvement would work well.On micro,thesis provide a improvement strategy on toilet and household garbage infrastructure.On the macro, it offers a case in constructing the infrastructure improve system in China.
