Evaluation of building energy consumption aims at assessing energy consumption situation in buildings. Since energy conservation works in buildings are based on evaluation index of building energy consumption, it is necessary to establish scientific and practical evaluation methods. Many research works in this field have been done in foreign developed countries. In China, barely no building energy-consumption database is completely developed at present, and the official evaluation methods for energy-consumption are also on its way.Also, fewer studies are organized on campus building energy-consumption. Therefore, based on a university energy consumption monitoring platform, this paper focuses on the energy consumption evaluation index of buildings in colleges and universitiesFirstly, statistics is carried on about overall energy consumption in campus buildings and detailed energy consumption in different kinds of campus buildings, and get the characteristics of different campus building. Secondly, basing on the existing research, this paper summarizes the construction principle of index system and method, and establish the evaluation index framework of all kinds of campus building. Then dormitory buildings and teaching buildings, which are typical buildings in campus, are chosen to make further research and evaluation by using information from energy consumption monitoring platform and subentry energy consumption model. Accuracy and applicability of the index system applied in this analysis are also taken into consideration. Multiple Linear Regression method is used to obtain the important factors in energy consumption of campus buildings. SPSS17.0software is employed to model dormitory energy consumption. The modeling results show that’covered area per room’have an important effect on the evaluation which should be taken into consideration and make a correction to the last evaluation results.The meaning of this study is mainly focus on the elaborated evaluation method and the evaluation index framework of all kinds of campus building. Through the evaluation on dormitory buildings and teaching buildings, high energy consumption buildings, high energy consumption subentry and period are determined as results. All of this laid the foundation of the reaearch on energy consumption and energy conservation in campus.
