Since the accession to WTO, China’s import and export trade is increasinglyactive. The foreign market brings opportunities and challenges for China’s packagingindustry. The idea with using green and environmental materials is thorough alreadypopular feeling in developed countries, while wood and plastic occupy a larger marketin China’s packaging industry.In this situation," wood is replaced by paper, plastic isreplaced by paper " is particularly important. Honeycomb cardboard packaging as agreen packaging material, the use of it in the packaging industry not only can savetimber resources, but also can reduce the environmental pollution caused by plasticpackaging. Development of China’s honeycomb industry has been about two decades;its manufacturing processes and equipment are still relatively backward. Domesticscholars and enterprise technology experts also conducted a lot of researches, whilemost of the researches were about the mechanical properties of honeycomb cardboard,researches on processing technology and equipment were rare. As we all known,processing technology and equipment affect directly the mechanical properties ofhoneycomb cardboard. Consequently, the research of combining honeycombcardboard’s processing technology, mechanical properties and equipment hasimportant practical significance.Based on the idea that mechanical properties of honeycomb cardboard wasaffected by processing technology and equipment, this subject mainly analysesexisting processing technology and equipment problems. In order to product differentaperture honeycomb cardboard, enterprise needs to design a series of spare gluespreaders. Drying on honeycomb cardboard is very uneven andtime-consuming.Cutting speed on stack of honeycomb paper is slow. Finite elementanalysis software ANSYS was used to study how the vertical and horizontalgelatinizing technology and opening affect the mechanical property of honeycombcardboard. We design a multifunctional coating mechanism, opening and cuttingequipment. Pro/E is three-dimensional software, we established honeycomb papercore model of the main bearing part of honeycomb paper with it, and imported the model into finite element analysis software ANSYS.After it,we analysed that verticaland horizontal gelatinizing, different hole location, hole shape and hole size affect onthe mechanical properties of honeycomb paperboard, and studied the effect of dryafter the opening. We designed coating device, opening and cutting equipment with theresults’ guidance. Based on the vertical coating, we designed vertical andmultifunctional coating equipment, created3D-model of equipment, analyzed thedistance adjustment of adhesive tape is reasonable and feasible, and verified the deviceby coating experiment.The device solves the problem that enterprise need to produce aseries of glue spreaders, and reduces cost. Based on opening and cutting analysis, wedesigned opening and cutting equipment,and created3D-model of equipment.Itworks by a series of opening and rotary blades. For opening portion of the frame weoptimized the body frame structure, reduced stress concentration rack.Wetrial-produced honeycomb paperboard core belt with round hole and cardboard,verified effect of dry. The equipment solves effectively problems that drying ofhoneycomb cardboard is difficult and cutting strips of it is low efficient. Themechanism and equipment have a good application value for solving the problemshoneycomb production, meanwhile provide reference value for studies on honeycombcardboard.
