With the continuous development of the society, the structure of the system usedin high-rise buildings are more and more, while the frame-shear wall structure thatcombines two structure features of the frame and shear wall structure is widely used inmulti-layer and high-rise residential buildings, office buildings. So the research for theforce and deformation characteristics of the frame-shear wall structure system underearthquake provides some relevant data and theoretical basis which is particularlyimportant for the designers. The purpose of the paper is to analysis the practical engineering of frame-shearwall structure, and establishes the practical engineering model with the SAP2000structural analysis software. The paper explores different factors on the deformationand force of the frame-shear wall structure under earthquake by constructing threecomparative models with the thickness variation of shear wall and floor, and shear wallopenings. Form this, we can find out the large part of the force and deformation instructure to improve the seismic requirements of these parts. In this paper, thefollowing work has been done:Firstly, we can obtain the relationship between the different models’ period andmode of vibration through the analysis of the previous25-step modal about differentframe-shear wall structures. Through the analysis of mass participation factor andvibration graph, we can determine the distribution of plan mass and stiffness, grasp themodal characteristics in actual engineering structures and it also pave the way for thelater chapters’ seismic response analysis. After the analysis of the vibration frequencyand displacement with the changes in the internal model, the impact of shear wallthickness, shear wall openings and floor thickness on the dynamic characteristics offrame-shear wall structure was obtained.Secondly, through exerting the X and Y direction of response spectrum analysis tothe different structures, we can get the floor displacement, drift angle, the internalstress on shear wall, the seismic shear at bottom and so on. By comparing the floordisplacement and drift angle of different models, the impact of shear wall thickness, shear wall openings and floor thickness on overall deformation is concluded. We canget the influence of different factors on the shear wall stress through the analysis of theeach model’s internal stress on shear wall and the seismic shear at bottom. It canprovide some reference data for the structural design and make some measures to strengthen the weak parts of the structure. Finally, the X and Y direction of time history response analysis under frequentearthquake were carried out for the different models by inputting three typical seismicwaves. By comparing the time history response curves of maximum displacementnodes in different models with the maximum displacement in response spectrumanalysis, the impact of shear wall thickness, shear wall openings and floor thickness onframe-shear wall structure seismic response can be concluded. In order to find out thedifferent factors worked on the force and shear in frame columns, the paper also takethe time history response analysis about different models’ frame column internal forceby inputting EL-C seismic waves. After doing this, we can identify the weak parts ofthe structure and adjustment the force in frame parts so that it can make the frame workeffectively in frame-shear wall structure.
