As the planning and design, construction quality, natural aging and operationmanagement, the aqueducts which are built in early days have entered the dangerousperiod. There have been varying degrees of disease problems of aging. Health statusof aqueducts decline over time, there was not only safety problems, which does nothelp prolong aqueducts’ life and play aqueducts’ project benefits. Therefore,evaluating the health status of aqueducts objectively and accurately with a reasonableevaluation method, as well as maintaining, managing and transforming scientificallyand reasonably for aqueducts’ different health status, has become an urgent problemof aqueducts’ construction and management in the current and future period.This article discusses research on evaluation of the aqueducts’ health status andevaluation methods of bridges’ health status which are similar to aqueducts. On thebasis of drawing evaluation methods of bridges’ structure and combining theaqueducts’ own characteristics, it presents how to evaluate the health status of theaqueduct with AHP-Entropy methods based on fuzzy-comprehensive evaluation. Inthis paper, the work has been carried out in the following aspects:Firstly, it starts with the actors which make the aqueducts’“healthy” to appearaging disease problems, and summarize the main manifestations of aqueducts’ agingdiseases Then it analyzes the causes of aqueducts’ aging diseases systematically.Secondly, it discusses the basic principles of the AHP-entropy method andfuzzy-comprehensive evaluation theory, as well as their application for aqueducts’health status evaluation, which lay a certain foundation for the evaluation system ofthe health status of the aqueduct.Thirdly, it applies the earlier discussing theories and methods and takesevaluation of the beam aqueduct for example, and then divides the evaluation onaqueducts’ health status into five grades. Moreover the article establishes acomprehensive evaluation model of aqueducts’ health status, and uses AHP-entropymethod to calculate the right of different index layers. Then it combines the existingdata and related specifications to determine the reference assessment standards ofaqueducts’ components level, proposes evaluation method for determining theunderlying index membership, and discusses the specific process which is related tomulti-stage fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of aqueducts’ health status. Finally, taking an aqueduct project of Hunan Province for example, we use fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method based on AHP-Entropy method proposed in thispaper and evaluate its health status comprehensively. The results show that thecomprehensive evaluation method is reasonable and feasible.
