Nowadays, in Chinese villages、urban and village junctions, a large number ofmasonry structure buildings hide in many zones. Due to the brittle material ofmasonry structure, the tensile and shear strength is low, the seismic performancerelative to other structure is poorer, the damage rate is quite high in the earthquake.So the masonry structure is an important object of identification and seismicstrengthening buildings in our country. But appraising these buildings from thedetailed structural analysis and screening one by one needs a lot of professionals. Ina short period of time, the target is almost impossible to achieve.So finding a rapididentification and evaluation method which is suitable for large area buildings andproviding preliminary decision-making reference can be faster to solve suchproblems.The objective and significance of this article is raising a assessment method toappraise masonry structure simple、rapidly and reliably,which is on the basis of thepast study. Based on the evaluation index of seismic resistant capacity andcompression strength, this paper put forward two methods to appraise masonrystructure’s seismic ability rapidly. One is simplified formula,and the other is neuralnetwork prediction system. The specific research contents and achievements of thispaper include the following aspects:(1)In the first part,the paper summarizes the research status of rapid evaluationmethod on masonry structure’s seismic capability. It pointed out the unsolved issuesand the research direction.(2)According to the characteristics of masonry structure’s earthquake disaster,related specifications and standards, as well as the existing evaluation methods,seismic resistant capacity and compressive strength are determined as evaluationindexes. And the main factors of seismic performance are filtered.(3) According to the principle of masonry structure seismic and compressivestress, the thesis build relationships between influence factors and two indexes byformula, and simplify the formula.This method is different from other evaluation methods which use subjectivity evaluation methods such as analytic hierarchy process.And it establish objective relationship between influence factors and evaluationindexes.(4) The sample date of this article are collected from south aera of Qingdaocity.It use PKPM software to calculate seismic bearing capacity and compressivebearing capacity of each sample.After that, it establish BP neural networkprediction model program and put the actual data in system for training.So it get theforecast model.(5) Finally, it contrast the result of formula and neural network forecastingmodel and fixed a simplified formula. At last, the paper puts forward two kinds ofmethod to appraise masonry structure seismic performance rapidly-simplifiedformula and neural network prediction model.
