Operating sunset-departure and sunrise-arrival trains which meets passengers’schedule is an important characteristic of high-speed railway in our country, it alsocan improve the market competitiveness of railway transportation. The research ofoperation scheme on sunset-departure and sunrise-arrival passenger train onhigh-speed railway lacks past experience and support of systemic theories andtechnologies to rely on being in the stage of exploration. So compiling a scientific,reasonable and practical operation scheme on sunset-departure and sunrise-arrivaltrain and utilizing the capacity of high-speed railway at night are urgent tasks facingour country’s railway passenger traffic while assuring the safety of high speedrailway.In this paper the author first analysed the competitive edge and passengerdemand of Sunset-departure and sunrise-arrival passenger train on high-speed railway,coordinated and optimizated the relationship between night train operation andopening up comprehensive maintenance windows. Then the definition, constituteelements and influence factors of sunset-departure and sunrise-arrival passenger trainon high-speed railway were studied systematically, the passenger flow processingmethod based on base station and the preparation process of operation scheme werealso designed combined with passenger node classes. Next0-1multi-objectiveprogramming model was built through the detailed analysis of operation income,passengers’ travel utility, the volume of direct passengers and the walking distance ofempty seats on train. In the end the author took the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speedrailway network as an example and analysed the passenger density of all sections,then introduced priority factors and positive and negative deviations using goalprogramming, solved them with the help of LINGO, and obtained the operationscheme of sunset-departure and sunrise-arrival passenger train on Beijing-Guangzhouhigh-speed railway which verified the theory mentioned above.
