The shifting actuator is an important part of automated mechanical transmission. Asthe execution unit of AMT shift action, the advantages and disadvantages of its dynamicperformance directly decide the overall performance of AMT, and then affect the gear-shiftquality and ride comfort of vehicle. The research on the transmission characteristics ofAMT shift actuator at home and abroad at present mainly involves the theoretical and thesimulation analysis, however, it is extremely rare to conduct research from theexperimental angle. Besides, the bench testing system about the shift actuatorcharacteristics is not very perfect. This paper began with the theoretical Study about AMT,Experimental study on the Characteristic of the AMT Shift Actuator was taken based onthe test bench, which could intuitively understand the changing trend of the importantparameters during the process of shifting, and it is great significance in guiding andpractical engineering value. The detailed research content was as follows:1. Described the composition, classification as well as the working principle of theelectric power AMT shift actuator; Through theoretical analysis on the AMT Shiftingprocess,working principle of synchronizer, shift force as well as characteristics of actuator,the corresponding mathematical models were established. The evaluation index of shiftingquality and the effect of characteristics of actuator on shifting performance had beentheoretically studied2. The bench test methods of AMT shift actuator including static and dynamiccharacteristic test methods were established based on the existing bench test standards andthe partial enterprise standards to establish a useful and effective test system.3. The static characteristics test bench of AMT shift actuator was designed accordingto the test standard. And the basic principles of the test bench were emphaticallyintroduced. Also, the mechanical parts were completed as well as the selection of servomotor, loading motor and sensors, and so on. The measurement and control software wascompiled; besides, the static characteristics test bench of AMT shift actuator was built anddebugged completely.4. Based on the test principle and test methods, a detail test scheme was formulatedwith the second generation shift actuator designed by a certain company. According toenergy conservation, a new computing method of transmission efficiency was introduced. The test was carried with different working conditions, and the results were analyzedcomparatively. Finally, this paper compared the transmission efficiency of drum structurewith that of worm gear.5. The design scheme of dynamic characteristics test bench of AMT shift actuator wasproposed according to the special-purpose test bench of AMT. What’s more, the partialexperiments were completed with the special-purpose test bench of AMT.
