In highway traffic system, people、vehicle、enviroment must work together could constitute an entire road traffic system. Highwany alignment was an important factor which influenced the road traffic system. Only all the elements coordinative operation, that the entire system of road traffic coule be safety, economy and comfort. The current theory of highway alignment design had been mainly based on automobile driving theory, analysis on the line from the safety point of view, no in-depth consideration of driver comfort requirements.The idea was based on the previons research, research object was typical of Inner Mongolia grassland highway alignment. Through the driver’s dynamic visual change to research whether the horizontal alignment was suit for the driver’s practical driving behavior, from a large number of practical driving test data, looking for the relationship between the horizontal alignment and eye movement index, building the model, and analysising the horizontal alignment index which was suit for the comfortable visual.Studies had shown that long straight lengths done obvious damage for driver’s visual which lossed the comfort. That was easily lead to accident. The research suggested that the longest linear length of prairie highway was4200m, the shottest linear length of prairie highway was1600m. The horizontal radius has great influence for driving suitable. When the horizontal radius is between2300-2800m was suitable for the driver’s visual and beneficial to the driver comfortable driving. In the plane alignment combination section, the driver driving in the plane alignment section of long straight sections and small radius curve was not comfortable for visual, when driving on the4000m long straight line and1500m radius of curve was very suitable for driver’s visual. In the prairie highway plane alignment in the prior section, visual comfort was optimal. This section was more in line with the driver’s visual comfort requirements.
