Investigation And Research For The Waterscape Of Residential Quarters In Hohhot Under The Conditions Of Cold And Drought

With the popularity of urbanization, more and more people moved into the residential quarters to live. Wherever they live, they still like the water and want to live around the it, that is why the residential waterscapes become more and more popular. And as we all know, Hohhot is cold and dry in winter, how to construct the waterscape which is fit for the weather condition is an important issue to us.This thesis chooses ten residential quarters in different districts in second ring which have been used for years, field survey and questionnaire survey the view and use conditions of different shapes. Through the investigation, the thesis analyses the advantages and disadvantages of different waterscape forms, and discusses the problems in the design and construction, which including bad maintain, short viewing time, lack of humanity, existence of security risks and lack of new idea. To solve these problems, the thesis finds out some methods and ways like using small and thin water, controlling its showing time to improve use ratio, combining the waterscape with other landscapes.
