The electric cylinder is a kind of mechanical transmission devices, whichis used to transform a rotary motion of the motor into a linear reciprocating motion ofthe screw. As an actuator, the Electric cylinder is widely used in industry, agricultureand defense ordnance. This study designs a three DOF seat platform based onself-developed electric cylinders for testing the cylinders performance. The maincontents of this dissertation are as follows.Firstly, based on the understanding of the current trends of electric cylinders,our electric cylinder is designed. And based on the dynamics calculation, the servomotor, the servo driver, PLC, and other related components are selected, and then theplatform is built according to the control circuit wiring,.Inverse kinematics model of the seat platform with Euler Angle is established inSimulink. As a modeling and simulation dedicated toolbox for mechanical system,SimMechanics is introduced to solve the problem that the mathematical modeling ofservo system is complex and difficult. Once the expected angle of platform is given,the movement can be observed in the visual window, and the displacements of all thecylinders and the up-platform trajectory can be obtained as well.The selected type of PLC is belonged to the FX3Gseries, which is capable ofachieving independence movement of three legs by programming. Thus, twoprocedure programs are developed based on this advantage. In program one, data istransmitted via FX3G-232-BD communication expansion board. A data sheet in fileregister is created to facilitate positioning command call. Once the platform attitudeis modified, only the adjustment of data is sufficient and do not need to change thepositioning program. Program two has the advantage of using specific TBL tablepositioning commands. Data is saved directly to PLC parameters of theGX-Developer. When programming, it is able to use the TBL number.The purpose of aging test is to examine the load capacity, stability and noiselevel of the electric cylinders. By designing different experiments, the movements,surface wears and noise index of cylinders are shown. and the experimental data isfurther analyzed.
