In order to prevent transmission lines from galloping and reduce the economic losses caused by transmission lines galloping,we take galloping monitoring subsystem as the research object,and then design a set of remote wireless transmission lines galloping monitoring system.The system consists of accelerometer sensor,LPC2148, ZigBee module and Lab VIEW display module. The acceleration sensor measures acceleration signal, after the hardware and software filter, acceleration integral, removing trend and finally calculate the magnitudes of distance. After the fast Fourier transform, we get the characteristic value of distance. After that, the instantaneous amplitude and amplitude characteristic values were sended by the ZigBee to the LabVIEW, in addition, the system consists of the alarm function. The biggest difference between the design scheme and the traditional acceleration sensor technology is that data acquisition and processing module calculates the amplitude characteristic values after amplitude calculation and FFT arithmetic, and the characteristic values were transmitted to LabVIEW by ZigBee. Experiment result shows that the developed transmission lines galloping monitoring system is cheap, easy to use and compact. The performance of the system can meet the needs of transmission lines galloping monitoring.The content and the results of this paper include the following aspects:(1) The advantages and disadvantages of traditional methods on transmission line galloping monitoring system were summarized, the accelerometer sensor, data acquisition model and wireless ZigBee module were used to monitor the transmission line galloping,then we describe the principle of the system and build the mathematical model.(2) It sets up the single degree of galloping model, and then Matlab was used to design the acceleration signal.Considering the lack of dealing with interference signal, Matlab was used to filter and remove the trend term.(3) MMA7361was used as accelerometer sensor and LPC2148was selected as data collection and process module and CC2530was selected as the wireless communications module,finally the monitoring device was designed, and completed the design of hardware software.(4) The LabVIEW was used as PC to display data that received from the wireless receiver, and we can see the amplitude clearly from LabVIEW.(5) The system was tested. In addition, we have test it’s fundamental performance.(6) The results have been summarized in the experiment platform of this system,and the insufficiency of the design and the further improvements are analyzed.
