With the rapid development of economy, people nowadays pay much more attention to preschooleducation, and parents and teachers also put forward higher requirements to it. The quality of preschooleducation has great influence on children’s physical and mental development, so the construction ofpreschool education environment has become an important indicator of the level of preschool education.China has promulgated Kindergarten Education Guidelines in2001. It proposes that it is necessary tocreate an better environment for children’s development according to the interests and characteristics ofphysical and mental development. The famous educator Montessori thinks that the basic task of educationis to create a suitable environment in which children can have fully developed in nature state. The teacher’sresponsibility is to provide opportunities of presentation and development to children in this kind ofenvironment, It will have an affect on children’s development because of the close relations between theenvironment and children, and in return children can also participate in the environment to interact with theenvironment.Perhaps compared to the University and high school, kindergarten cover an small area, it cannot bring significant benefits to some extent therefor the design is always ignored. Most of the kindergartenpay more attention on the design of color and architectural style so as to distinguish from others. It is anone-sided view. The interior and exterior environmental design of kindergarten includes many contents.This article according to the concept of environment design which is fit for children refers to the relevantstandard of our country to discuss how to design a better environment so as to meet the requirements ofchildren’s development. I will draw lessons from two outstanding design case in home to analyze theimportance of design the indoor and outdoor environment from the view of children. And then study thethoughts of environment design of indoor and outdoor preliminarily.The innovation of this paper is the in-depth analysis on physiological and psychological behavior, andthen use this analysis as a starting point to discuss the relationship between environment and children whenwe begin to design. We should regard the indoor and outdoor environment as a whole. I hope to proof thepoint through the following argument that it is particular in the process of designation from whole to detail.I will use a large number of specific data to prove the point.(For example, the height of different children, the space that each child has to play games in outdoors, etc.)I hope it will have a directive function on theenvironment design of kindergarten.
