With the rapid development of the worldwide industrial technology, energy shortageand environmental pollution problems have become more serious. Hydraulic systemenergy saving has become a widespread concern, as the most widely used executiveelement in hydraulic system, the study of hydraulic cylinder energy saving technology isalso widely carried out. For this case, a double piston series hydraulic cylinder is designed.Firstly, based on the principles and steps of the hydraulic cylinder design, on the basisof existing design and existing technical, a double piston series hydraulic cylindertheoretical model was proposed in this paper, and completed the design study of the majorcomponents of the model.Secondly, the paper analyzes the commonly used three kinds of throttling speedcontrol circuit in the hydraulic system; conducted the double piston series hydrauliccylinder application design in variable speed circuit with simple machine tool hydraulicsystem as an example; the results show that the hydraulic cylinder can realize the speedcontrol needs and achieve the purpose of system energy saving.Finally, the paper analyzes the triangle throttling groove flow area changes with thedegree of opening; establishing the mathematical model of the hydraulic cylinder system;based on the mathematical model, simulation analysis are carried out by using AMESimsoftware; exploring the buffering effect of triangular groove on the hydraulic cylinder;studying the influence of the main parameters of the suction valve to cylinder workingperformance. The article research results has played a certain theoretical support for thedesign of the series hydraulic cylinder, the simulation analysis has a strong guiding rolefor actual design.
