Research On Human Machine Interface Design For Automobile Cab

The ergonomics theory has been widely used in the late stages of automotive design. With the occupants’ demanding of the car cab experience increasing, ergonomics theory becomes a corresponding theoretical guidance of early conceptual stage in automotive design.The car interior interface design includes car seats interface, control interface and display device interface. In this paper, using UG which is the current popular design software in the automotive industry to design virtual human model and other related contents. The detail works are as follows:(1) The establishment of virtual human model. Establish the target3D digital human model through the design of the corresponding work in UG. At the same time, analysis the main function of it, get ready for the later design work.(2) The design of cab car seat interface. According to the actual needs the automotive seat cab interface design, using of car seat H point design to design the driver seat positioning and layout and to determine the stroke of seat adjustment. At last, by predicting the driver’s post, Assessed the designed model whether meets the needs of comfort.(3) The design of cab car operating device interface. Take an example of steering wheel and center console, Introduced cab design theory and design methods of manipulating the device interface, and by rational using the tools of two-dimensional human body model, completed the position and angle arrangement of the steering wheel. By create3D digital model components in UG, according to the theory of driver encompasses hand, predicted when the driver while driving, the maximum range that the fingers can touch, thus established a three-dimensional model to evaluate and determine its design is reasonable.(4) The design of car cab display device interface. In the example of the dashboard design, according to the theory eyellipse, solved the steering wheel blocking the driver’s line of sight of the blind in actual use, from the point of view to get the best ergonomic dashboard layout program.The research and design are according to human body characteristics in our country. Although the design of automotive cab human machine interface still not fit the actual using demands perfectly, the corresponding research results would shorten project development cycle and improve the efficiency of product development.
